How many hair brushes do you have?
I’m guessing it’s a lot. And if you’re anything like me, you never use most of them. Knowing how to choose the right hair brush is tricky, which makes it easy to load up on brushes that don’t do their job well, or even harm your hair.
Yikes. Not ideal to say the least. So I did some research about what to look for in a great hair brush. Turns out there are only two brushes you need to keep your hair healthy and tamed: a boar bristle brush and a detangling brush.
A boar bristle brush is very close to your hair’s natural texture, which makes it surprisingly effective at distributing your hair’s natural oils. Using this type of brush is like giving yourself a conditioning treatment. My hair looks shinier, healthier, and less frizzy every time I use one.
A good detangling brush helps to get rid of tangles without breaking or damaging your hair. It’ll also give you a little scalp massage, which a. feels amazing and b. stimulates blood flow, which can help encourage hair growth.
I’ve summed up some more about what I’ve learned on how to choose the right hair brush in this video:
As you can probably tell, I’m a big fan of both of these tools. They’re definitely worth checking out if you like the idea of a brush that’s great for your hair and for the environment. I know I’m excited to get rid of my mountain of old hair brushes.
You’ll find both of these brushes in the Beauty by Earth shop. Give them a try and let me know how they change your hair – you’re gonna love the results!
