Burt’s Bees Lip Balm: The first balm we decided to compare is Burt’s Bees original beeswax lip balm. This balm has lots of good, natural ingredients (like beeswax and coconut oil), but it also uses soybean oil, which rules this balm out if you have a soy allergy. This felt great for the short time it lasted, but all too soon we found we needed another coat.
EOS Lip Balm: Our next contestant for the title of “best lip balm ever” is EOS lip balm. These balms come in a cute round container and their ingredients list doesn’t feature any potentially allergenic or dangerous substances. We also liked the variety of fruit flavors their lip balm come in. But is this enough for this product to be the answer to the question “what is the best lip balm?” Unfortunately for EOS, no, it’s not. While the fruit flavors are yummy, they don’t provide that initial feeling of freshness. While it does go on smooth, it lasts even less time than Burt’s Bees, requiring constant reapplication.
Beauty by Earth’s Peppermint Lip Balm: This leaves us with our final contestant. Beauty by Earth’s balm wins points for its all natural ingredient list, its ability to go on smooth and leave lips feeling silky, and its refreshing peppermint flavor.
