It’s Mother’s Day and we can’t help but reminiscence on all the days we spent watching our moms in front of the mirror as a kid. It was there we marveled at the products and cool demeanor in which they worked. Perhaps it even led to your first unfortunate lipstick application. In any case, moms are the first beauty inspiration for many individuals. Their wisdom always seems to stick around as the years go by. So, in the spirit of the holiday, we’re sharing a few of the best beauty tips we learned from our moms.
Get Your Nutrients
“My mom always stressed the importance of proper nutrients and hydration for skin. She’s a big advocate of seaweed for skin and LOVES our Face Scrub because of it.”
Jenny, Director of Digital Marketing
Good Products & Mental Health
“1.) She always said for our curly hair it is so important to use good quality shampoo and conditioner to make sure it is actually being moisturized. That way we can prevent frizz without having to use harmful products,
2.) Your mental health is the most beautiful thing about being human. If we do not take care of our mental health it makes everything else a bandaid.”
Kyra, Operations Admin
Water and Sunblock, Always
“Drink water and wear your dang sunscreen.”
Dani, Operations Director
Embrace Your Imperfections
“There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty.”
Melissa, Customer Service Manager
Love Yourself as You Are
“Sweetie, your face is perfect, you don’t need makeup.”
Danielle, Content and PR
“My mom always emphasized that skincare and beauty products were to make ME happy. Not other people.”
Kristen, Marketing Coordinator
Girl, Wash Your Face. (And Moisturize!)
“No matter what, wash your face before bed. And always moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!”
Camille, Writer & Engagement Coordinator
We wouldn’t be the people we are today if it weren’t for our mom’s advice. Make sure you spend the day returning the favor—from a handmade item to some wonderful beauty products. And, if you’re a mama yourself, make sure you’re getting the love you deserve too, dangit!
