What’s the first thing you need to know about konjac sponge benefits? They’re the perfect way to exfoliate your skin without any additives, perfumes, dyes, or colors. Instead, they’re made of roots of the konjac plant, a perennial used in Japanese cooking for over 1,500 years. The roots are ground down and made into sponges, which contain massive amounts of the vitamins your skin needs to look great, including vitamins A, E, D, B1, B2, B6, B12, and C.
When you first open up your package of konjac sponges, you might be a little confused. Those hard, dry little lumps might not seem like they’d be good to use on your face, but they’re still missing a key ingredient: hydration. Let that little lump soak in water for fifteen minutes before its first use. The hydration will transform it into a soft, silky, bouncy sponge. It will dry out again after use, but you’ll only need to soak it for a minute or two before you use it next time.
The greatest of konjac sponge benefits is its ability to exfoliate gently. When you gently rub it in a circular motion around your face, neck, and eyes, it removes blackheads, oil, dead skin cells, and dirt. Use it alone for clear, bright, and balanced skin, or with cleanser for a deeper clean or to remove makeup.
Our konjac sponges come two to a pack. Use the white sponge every day for gentle exfoliation all over your face (even sensitive areas). The black sponge is infused with bamboo charcoal, making it a great choice for daily use if your skin is oily, prone to acne, or problematic. Otherwise, use the black sponge once a week for a deep cleanse.
